Rainbow socks are my absolute favorite! Aside from being the most bold and colorful, rainbows are everywhere in this lovely San Francisco city. Hi friends. Long time no blog, I know - sorry about that. So you see there will be a baby coming to The Sock Boutique this summer. :) So, I've been busy but have missed dropping by here and adding new pictures. Now that I'm back let me introduce you to Melanie. She is super colorful like the wall behind her and lots of fun. Although, she tried on all kinds of socks this day such as the Neon Rainbow Thigh Highs and new Thigh High sneaker socks, she especially loved our simple black tube socks below.

Where Hip Hop Meets Couture fashion show

Last week we were fortunate enough to participate in a fabulous artist showcase in San Francisco City Hall by Creative Edge. Not only was this the most glamorous and beautiful location, but the fashion and music we were surrounded with equaled a night we will never forget.

We participated in the runway show by styling some rockstar looks. It was the absolute best! Thanks so much to Agnes, our lead stylist, for assisting our team. As hard as we worked on the womens looks, it was the men in Klen socks and boxers that stole the show. Camera flashes tripled when they came out! Below are some of our favorite looks as well as links to where they can be found at our socks store.

Jasmine was wearing our vinyl top thigh high fishnets over colored tights with scrunched black knee high socks by Ozone socks.

San Francsico Love Parade / Lovevolution - 2009

Yesterday was so much fun! LoveParade (now called Lovevolution) is one of the most colorful days of the year for us. Market street is shut down for our annual dance music festival and parade. During the parade we danced along our favorite floats and met people in the streets and also gave away tons of socks. We see more socks, tights and fishnets here than anywhere else !See all of the pictures from the day here.

Things have been busy for us at our online sock shop. We've slowed down purchasing of super warm socks and are preparing for the warmer months by restocking stockings & fishnets as well as colorful tube socks of all lengths.

Black Over the Knee Socks by Foot Traffic

This morning I put on these over the knee black socks by Foot Traffic. I worked most of the day wearing them with my favorite winter dress around my home office. They fit me nicely, about a couple of inches above the knee and was pleasantly surprised they stayed up well. They fit snugly and can be worn with any type of shoe. They will fit small to medium size people above the knee and knee high on larger frames.

These arm warmers came in the mail today and we just adore them. They are hand created and made of stretch velvet and metallic silver fabric. Currently they are available in 2 shades: Indigo and Purple. :)

Peacock Socks

Yesterday we went to the annual eco friendly festival in our neighborhood. I knew we would find amazing clothing that is earth friendly and gorgeous. What I didn't know is that we would find Rene Geneva and her fabulous peacock socks!! These come in brown pinstripe and black & natural stripes. These socks are made of eco cotton and hemp. They are have a very wide elastic band to help keep them up. They are sturdy socks yet very comfortable. We have a very limited quantity of these and with them marked at $20 ($29 elsewhere) they will go fast.

Foot Traffic tights

We absolutely love our new tights! For over a year we were using a brand of tights that were 100% nylon. They were ok-- but sometimes gave people saggy knees due to the lack of stretch. About a month ago we slowly starting replacing to Foot Traffic tights which have 10% spandex for stretch and feels nice and soft too. Our friend Brit was one of the first ones in our crew to try them out and she complimented "Wow! These feel so nice" right away! Here she is in a pair of the navy.

Love & Socks, our eco line of socks, have been featured in the latest fashion spread of Roxanne Magazine. We all love Roxanne magazine and the ladies there that make the magazine happen.

The model is wearing our eco friendly Olive knee high socks and our Spring Green over the knee socks. We love the effect of wearing two pairs of socks and with all of the different colors we have available, you have dozens of different combinations.

Striped Tube Socks

Striped tube socks are definitely hot right now in fashion. There's Mariah Carey in her new video and Hannah Montana who wore them over the knee for her entire tour.

What many people don't realize is that when it comes to athletic teams and loungewear - tube socks have always been around. Cheerleaders, basketball players, dancers and those who like to chill in comfortably clothes around the home all love our tube socks. Tube socks come in a variety of different lengths and stripe styles. We currently make 3 styles, each with many different colors.

Over the Knee/Thigh High tube socks - These come with 3 thin stripes at top. They can be worn pulled up as high as they can go or many prefer to wear them a bit slouched and have them sit just above your knee. We added 2 new colors: Hot Pink & Neon Orange
Double Striped Knee High - We love these super fat stripes reminiscent of the 70's & 80's. Available in 9 delicious colors with Neon Orange just added. These are actually unisex style so they are sturdy. This is what the model is wearing below.
Triple Striped Knee High socks - These have 3 thin stripes across the top like our thigh high style above except they sit just below the knee. These are made for women and are not as thick as the unisex style above, they have more of a delicate look.

Today at the local book shop I picked up the latest issue of Mean Magazine because the cover looked so very stylie. The gorgeous photo below is of actress Kate Beckinsale with some pretty cool striped stocks on. Their site has also has a cute video but the magazine has all the nice photos with her cool socks on.

Although we don't have those specific striped socks we have a few of our own. One of our favorites are the Blueberry Stripes and Candy striped socks.

My friend Christina hand sews clothing inspired by the SF Area belly dance scene under her label Black Lotus. We just love her work she makes all of these beautiful halters, skirts and our favorite - arm warmers.

Cashmere Arm Warmers & Bow

My friend and I couldn't resist opening up a pair of the Betsey Johnson Cashmere Leg Warmers and putting them on our arms on a cold day. They are irresistibly cute on your arms. You can scrunch them down like in the photo here or pull them up so that the bow sits just above your elbow.

Very cute, soft and warm and looked great with a our new dresses we got for the holidays.

2 Socks and A Snack

Recently we started carrying cute and colorful mismatched socks for toddlers. Mismatched socks come with 3 individual socks instead of 2 so that you have 3 combinations for mixing and matching. My friends baby started kicking happily in his new socks as soon as we put them. He then started munching on the 3rd sock. It was funny!

The Sock Boutique set up at the halloween ball in Cow Palace this past October. We brought our trunks of socks and other legwear to vend and meet new people. We even dressed up!
